Mentioned in Premios Soberano (2024)
Scenario
CIA agent Joe tries to balance her personal and professional life as the spearhead of the agency’s war on terrorism. Real military advisors helped produce a more authentic performance of weapons handling, house cleaning, positioning, team-based activities, etc. Best New Show, After the disappointing 4th season of Jack Ryan and generally bland shows everywhere, this one felt much better in every way.
Great acting by everyone
It looks really good and the action/fight scenes look amazing. I think most of the criticism of this show in the comments section seems to come down to how unrealistic it is because of the whole female operator thing, and as a guy, I’m fine with a good female-led action show that’s an original IP that doesn’t turn a male lead into a female lead. Other than that, I haven’t seen any red flags yet like every male character being portrayed as incompetent or anything like that.
PS: Nicole Kidman’s role so far is incredibly small and uneventful and could have been played by anyone else
Also at first I thought it was going to be more of a no-frills action series but then they dove into the family a bit and I usually cringe at that but I didn’t like what they did there. My only criticism is that the plot of what this particular group of operators are doing is very limiting and could kill the story if it moves beyond the plot/villain of the season… it needs to be more comprehensive so they can eventually do a new, more intense and fast-paced Homeland or it risks becoming too episodic like Blacklist.
We’ll see what the wonderful Morgan Freeman brings to the show
But from what I’ve seen so far the show could stand on its own with Zaldana without any other A-list stars. TLDR Overall cautiously optimistic but I like what I’m seeing so far, everything is incredibly polished and well done. It’s entertaining even if it’s not the History channel show that some commenters seem to prefer.
