This series has only the most tangential relationship to the original series
Scenario
Follow Madeline Matlock as she joins the staff of a prestigious law firm, where she uses her shrewd tactics to win cases and uncover wrongdoing. A parody of the original 1986 television series of the same name, Matlock (1986), starring Andy Griffith as criminal lawyer Ben Matlock.
This would have verified the person’s identity, address, current license status, disciplinary actions, etc
For legal reasons they had to give Dean Hargrove a “based on the Matlock series” credit. For Matlock to be hired by a New York law firm, she would have had to verify her law license status through one of three official mechanisms, each carefully managed by the state.
If you think you’re going to watch a rerun of the old Matlock series, you’re in for a big surprise
Matlock Remake (1986). My script is perfect and you won’t see the twist that happens at the end of the first episode; As always, it’s hard to take your eyes off Kathy Bates – she dominates the screen in a way few actresses have been able to.
Give it an hour, just an hour
I have to imagine the second episode takes a very different direction. I was skeptical when I first heard about the series.
And come on, there’s Beau Bridges
I was so happy that I was bored on a Saturday night and decided to watch the series premiere. We can go home when it’s poured.
